Codes and Standards Activities Division (CSAD)

Purpose:

Coordinate all activities of ASCE related to the establishment, use, or discontinuance of standards in the area of buildings.

Public Comment Period Open until August 15, 2010 on Changes to 2008 MSJC

The Masonry Standards Joint Committee (MSJC) has completed revisions to Building Code Requirements and Specification for Masonry Structures (TMS 402/ACI 520/ASCE 5 and TMS 602/ACI 530.1/ASCE 6). In accordance with The Masonry Society's consensus procedures, TMS is accepting public comments on the provisions until August 15, 2010. To submit a public comment, please follow the instructions on the website. Comments will be accepted until midnight ET on August 15, 2010.


Update to ASCE/SEI 48 - Public Comment Period Announcement

An update to ASCE/SEI 48 Design of Steel Transmission Pole Structures Standard will open for a 45-day Public Comment Period beginning August 2, 2010. Anyone wishing to participate in the Public Comment Period should contact ASCE Standards Administrator Lee Kusek at lkusek@asce.org for instructions on how to participate. The Public Comment Period will be open from August 2, 2010, until 5:00 p.m. (participant's local time), September 17, 2010.

Call for Members - ASCE/SEI Athletic Field Lighting Structures Standards Committee

The Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of ASCE is seeking members for the newly authorized Athletic Field Lighting Structures Standards Committee. The committee is developing a national consensus guideline for the proper specification, design, installation, and on-going maintenance of athletic field, or other similar large area lighting system support structures. Membership on SEI/ASCE standard committees is open to all those who might reasonably be expected to be or who indicate they are directly affected by the activity.
